Call for applications – Youth digital security training 2020
The Transformative Leaders Network- Africa is a youth led, youth focused organization that works to mainstream young people’s participation in and promotion of human rights, good governance practices with a vision of a society where the leadership upholds the ideals of social justice and gender equality. Over the past years, TRANET has been amplifying young people’s voices and fostering protection and support for youth human rights defenders and organizations. The recent past has witnessed an upsurge of youth-led rights groups springing up in Uganda and it is apparent they are susceptible to cyber/digital -attacks from either within or without. Cyber security laws and policies have a direct impact on human rights, particularly the right to privacy, freedom of expression, and the free flow of information. In Uganda, Policymakers have crafted several national policies with the intention of protecting the Internet and other information communication technologies (ICTs)
